Tradition in Christian Tradition Polynesia
The ritual begins with the journey in the canoe to the village where we celebrate the ceremony. Here the young people there take care of the couple with rites borrowed from the royal tradition: massage with Monoi oil for her, and body-painting-inspired tattoos for him. Then the couple is dressed in traditional sarongs and conducted in the presence of the head of the community who speaks the prayers and words of good omen, translated by an interpreter. The Vahine and burrows, the bride and the groom, get, finally, a Tahitian name and a "certificate" of marriage, written on special parchment bark of palm (tapa).
The festivities continue with the various alternatives offered by the ceremonial procession in the village with the bride and groom gifts lying on chairs, carried on the shoulders of young Polynesians, or a performance of songs and dances. It can be concluded the day with a romantic cruise or a toast with champagne in a do, where you can also enjoy the "second" first night.
