Buddhist Tradition
According to Buddhist marriage is not necessary and the couple can join in a civil ceremony (not required) and get together. Those who wish to marry may do so, perhaps bringing a family and friends. It begins by reciting the Hoben chapter and the Jgage, then a few minutes Daimoku. Later the bride and groom and witnesses drink three sips of sake from three cups, which means the three existences of past, present and future, then the present express their feelings freely, or reading a few tracks and their best wishes to the newlyweds. The ceremony ends with the reading of three Daimoku.
